Havana Province, Cuba. – “The only ways of government that grow roots are the ones born from within the nations.” This is a Jose Marti´s principle that Havana Province people are taking into practice by getting ready to nominate the individuals with greater virtues, political and revolutionary values after next February 24.

The process of candidates’ nomination to the Municipal Assemblies of People´s Power will start in Havana Province with pilot assemblies in a few constituencies.

Mass and social organizations of the whole province guarantee the culture of participation in the electoral exercise. They also ensure the plurality of views, approaches and actions in the heart of Havana Province society.

Young people, women and men, without distinction of race, can be nominated during the process. Those who are elected will be systematically accountable for their performance, facilitating freedom of discussion and the exercise of criticism and self-criticism.

The Cuban political system, with its genuine and autochthonous nature, reaffirms the inheritance of Jose Marti's political and social thinking in the forthcoming elections. They are doing it in full correspondence to the people´s idiosyncrasy, culture, education and traditions.
