Bauta, Havana Province, Cuba. - The best teachers,
professors and management staff of the different
education levels of Bauta were stimulated in the
closing activity of the school year.
The “Rafael Maria de Mendive" Medal,
granted in recognition to the best performance,
was given to Sol Angel Brito and Nancy Valdes,
of the “Jose Luis Tassende” and “Jose
Maria Perez” Primary Schools respectively.
Felicia Fajardo, from the “Martyrs of Baracoa”
School of General Education for Youngsters, also
received the same decoration.
The Distinction for Cuban Education was given
to Miladys Romero.
The main speaker of the activity was Maria Elena
Lara, municipality director of Education. She
elaborated on extra-curricular achievements, like
scientific events and participation in national
and international contests related to environment,
history and other subjects.
The most outstanding institutions were the “Camilo
Torres” High School; the “Martyrs
of Tarara” Primary School and the “Martyrs
from Baracoa” School of General Education
for Youngsters, in Adults Education.
The municipality of
Bauta has 28 education centers for primary education,
high schools, technical and professional training,
adults education and languages schools.
The most outstanding
educators laid a flower wreath at the monument
in honor of local martyrs. This is a patriotic
tradition, where tribute is paid to those who
gave their life for the present conquests.
