Havana Province, Cuba. – Havana Province electric workers had many very good reasons to celebrate last January 14.
The reason is not only that this date is the national Electric Worker's Day. The point is that they celebrated the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Electric Company in Havana Province.
The anniversary was an encouragement to boost the energy saving program and to guarantee the supply, stability and quality of electric power in the province.
During this period, Havana Province Basic Electric Organization was involved in tasks to avoid energy loss and the rehabilitation of electric networks and 33 kilovolts substations.
In these endeavors, we must highlight the fulfillment of the electricity supply plan agreed with the Ministries of Basic Industry and Economy and Planning, pursuant to rising consumption in the first months of the year.
The time is right; therefore, to commend the efforts of over 3 800 workers in Havana Province. This contingent is now regrouping its forces with the objective of attaining new goals, like further development for people´s benefit.
Those in charge of doing this job are committed to go on, instead of stopping to watch what they accomplished last year. For 2010, they have pledged to increase saving.
The party of Havana Province electric workers was an ideal scenario to ratify that this army of anonymous heroes will continue building the Revolution´s work and will never let down Fidel, Raul and the people to which they belong.
