Havana, Cuba. – According to the latest performance of Havana Province team in the 49th National Baseball Series, it looks like the current Cuban kings found their pace. 
 
They won two games against Industriales and Matanzas and three against Pinar del Rio, playing as home-club in the last two matches. The revival of their batting against Crocodiles (Matanzas) and Green Socks (Pinar del Rio) excites fan clubs and the hearts of Cowboys´ followers. 
 
The team managed by Esteban Lombillo, head coach of the last national team, 2nd place in the 2009 World Cup, just achieved 3 important wins against Pinar del Rio. It thus ratified its aspirations to fight for one of the 4 slots of the western pool in the playoffs of Cuban baseball. 
 
Victories of 5x3 in the first two days and 8x1 in the farewell, with 36 hits and only 1 error in the field, show the improvement of a team that last year won, against all odds, the main trophy of the most important Cuban sports event. 
 
Moreover, one must take into account the performance against Matanzas in the precedent match and the fine fielding against Pinar del Rio. 
 
The Cowboys must show no mercy to their rivals of this weekend, Island of Youth, if they want to consolidate a sound position to qualify. They must take advantage of the weakness of their opponents and the showdown between Industriales and Cienfuegos. 

Talking of Cienfuegos, it looks like the southerners are very much for real this year. If they have their way, one of the traditionally strong teams of this pool: Pinar del Rio, Industriales or Havana Province, will be left out of the playoffs. 
 
Every player of Havana Province team is aware of this fact. Therefore, this weekend they will go for the 3 wins against the islanders at the “Nelson Fernandez” stadium of San Jose de las Lajas. 
 
That should be their goal.
