Havana Province,
Cuba. - The People’s Power Local Body in the municipality
of Bauta, Havana Province, attained its best results in the
fields of Education and Health Care during 2009.
The infant mortality rate is 2,1 per every thousand born alive.
This figure represents, according to the number of births, a
single death. Another excellent indicator is maternal mortality.
It has stayed in zero in the last 10 years.
Bauta community of educators and students achieved last July
the best indicators in their history, all above 99%. During
the second semester, they worked very hard in the southern area
to open new high school classrooms. They sought to bring them
closer to the homes of students that live in the countryside.
In the sphere of social works, Bauta government body renovated
the ambulance station, a unit headed for the condition of Excellency.
The clinic of “Las Margaritas” settlement was likewise
refurbished.
The infant playgrounds were also tended to and the Municipal
Recreational Center was completed and delivered.
The economic sphere had a few organizational flaws at the beginning
of the year. It was mostly due to the fact that some organizations
did not have a full staff of economists, according to their
needs. Nevertheless, the municipality attained a discreet surplus.
In terms of saving, the Energy Council had a good performance
in actions and results. Mercantile production did as much.
Bauta Government is preparing new guidelines for 2010. They
are aimed at increasing the number of replies to people’s
concerns, the raison d’être of this way of government.
In addition, they mean to complete, improve and advise the crews
of economists in grassroot organizations.
