Successful
meeting of Scientific Journals

Havana Province, Cuba. - The VII Meeting of Scientific
Journals Editors was closed in Havana Province
after 3 days of exchanges, debates and presentations.
The event gathered specialists, university professors
and researchers from Cuba, Mexico, Honduras, Argentina,
Colombia and other Latin American countries.
The Institute of Animal Science, based in San
Jose de las Lajas, hosted a hundred delegates,
which debated on the editor's job and their own
experiences. They also addressed the use of Mathematics,
article economy and publications access to digital
formats.
Some of the most remarkable lectures were: “Communication
Strategies and the editor's role in international
journals”, delivered by Chilean Jose Valderrama,
and “Editorial Policies and Literature Promotion
in Cuba”, by specialists of the Ministry
of Culture.” “Freedom of access to
information and the knowledge society”,
was presented by Alejandro Caballero and Daniel
Piedra, also Cubans.
All the participants recognized the high quality
and organization of the Meeting and commended
the excellence of the Institute of Animal Science
and the professionalism of its staff. It was regarded
as an example for any institution in the whole
world.
The delegates expressed special appreciation for
the journal of this prestigious institution. It
is based in San Jose de las Lajas, in the center
of Havana Province and 30 kms southeast of the
Cuban capital. This area is admittedly one of
the most important scientific complexes of the
country.
The Cuban Journal of Agricultural Science was
founded 40 years ago and its quality has been
availed by important international institutions.
It ranks as one of the 18 best in the world.
